ABOUT ME

My name is Sabria Revader (preferably Sabria; having no familial ties), and I was born on September 11, 1995, in Jacksonville, North Carolina. It is here that I spent much of my life, raised by various family members.

I began working as a sales associate, administrative assistant, and Certified Pharmacy Technician.

After diverting from a career in Pharmacy, I discovered a love for Ophthalmology. A love that resulted from securing a job as an Ophthalmic Medical Assistant inadvertently. From here, I set "sight" on becoming an Ophthalmologist. In order to earn money for my post-graduate education, I intended to start a small, online business. This inspiration led to the development of several present projects.

Today, I am the founder of Elements by Sareva- a recreational bike service that utilizes digitalized smart locks and docks for a quick and convenient rental experience; Viris-  a developing research & development company aspiring to create treatments for various eye diseases and disorders; Variety Sports Club- an amateur, fun adult athletic and mind sports and group fitness club; Sareva Eye Care- an aspiring ophthalmic treatment center for rare eye diseases and disorders; Sareva Animal Sanctuary- an aspiring safe animal haven that offers homes and healthcare for abandoned and rescued animals; and the former Summer Excursions & Enrichment Program (S.E.E.P.) for Youth- an exciting and enriching youth summer-fun program.

Additionally, I am healthcare professional- with accumulated (and presently acquiring) experience as a Pharmacy technician, Ophthalmic medical assistant, Clinical researcher, and Medical billing and coder.

My greatest aspiration is to become a Neuro-ophthalmologist.

I began my academic journey at Shiloh Institute of Learning- a private, Christian institution. Here, I earned a number of academic achievement awards; became a two-time National poetry contestant winner and won 2nd place in my first spelling bee competition. I also began playing the piano at school recitals, around the age of 6. 

Subsequently, I attended New Bridge Middle school- a math, science, and technology Magnet school. Here, I was a member of the Science club, as well as, a flutist in my school’s band. I engaged in many of the school’s community-aid efforts, as well as, became the recipient of several “Academic Achievement” awards.

I went on to attend Jacksonville High school (JHS)- an international Baccalaureate school. During my time there, I was a member of the Health Science Academy and Science National Honor Society. I, later, joined the golf and track teams, as well as, played recreational volleyball with my church youth group. I received JHS’s 2011 “Miss Manners” award, and was nominated for the National Honors and National Technical Honors societies. Additionally, I was among a select-number of students to receive an invitation to the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine 2012- a two-week, summer forum, which I attended at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. I graduated JHS with a 3.7 GPA; earning Academic honors, along with over $160,000 in scholarships and admissions into all 10 of the in-state colleges/universities that I applied to. (I had planned to enroll into the Pre-pharmacy program at Campbell University; however, being 17-years old- and unable to receive the support (and legal consent) of my biological parents to further my education, I was unable to attend any of the colleges/universities or accept my scholarship awards. I remained home, and worked multiple jobs to pay my way through Coastal Carolina Community College the following year.)

At Coastal Carolina Community College (CCCC), I completed a Pharmacy Technician course, then subsequently enrolled into an Associate in Science degree program. I served as an officer of the Student Government Association, as well as, a member of the Spanish and eXtreme Science clubs. Between studies, I relocated to Charlotte, N.C. temporarily, and attended Central Piedmont Community College. A year later, I re-enrolled into CCCC and graduated with an Associate in Science degree. A few years following, I completed various supplemental courses, and earned an Associate in Arts. (Some time in-between my studies, here, I was among 100 students, selected from across the country, to attend Campbell University’s Health Profession and Enrichment Program (H-Prep)- which I attended for pharmacy.)

Since graduating from CCCC, I have earned a Bachelor of Art in International studies degree (concentrated in Globalization) from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. There, I served as the Community Engagement Chairwoman for the Black Student Union, as well as, a member of the American Medical Student Association, Hispanic/LatinX Union, SeaHawk Wildlife Association, Women in Business Society, and College of Humanities, Social Sciences, and the Arts Academic Deans' Student Leadership Council.

Today, I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biology degree from Louisiana State University at Alexandria.

I aspire to further my studies to obtain a Master of Science in Clinical & Translational science, Master of Science in Microbiology and Cell Science (concentrated in Microbiome in Health and Disease), Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) in Ophthalmology, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Vision Science, Associate of Arts in Spanish, and Associate of Applied Science of Business Administration degree as well as various professional certificates- including Medical Neuroscience presented by Duke University, Synaptic Pharmacology offered by the University of Minnesota, and Social Psychology from Wesleyan University.

Between the ages of 5 and 13 years old, I aided my community primarily through fundraising and volunteer endeavors; available through my church and schools. During this time, I also served as a junior usher at my church. At 14, I was a high school freshman; tutoring middle and high school students in general academics, as well as, college students in Algebra and Geometry. At 15, I spent much of my time volunteering as a children's teacher assistant and pianist at my church. At 16, I re-established my church’s youth volleyball team, and expanded it to young girl’s around my community- with the assistance of Stephanie Fuqua-Gainer. Additionally, I served as a member of my city’s Harmony youth group, and attended student council sessions to aid in change for local students. At 18, I began serving as a church youth leader; advising and coordinating many of the fundraising activities, program events, and outings. At 20, utilizing a portion of my college savings- and with the assistance and donations of Chief Warrant Officer McGill Howard (USMC retired), I founded the Summer Excursions & Enrichment Program (S.E.E.P.) for Youth- a summer-fun program that sought to instill life essentials in youth.

Today, I support both people and animals through various philanthropic endeavors- such as gifts for children, free meal boxes for underprivileged families and individuals, "SRewards by Sabria" for endeavor supporters and social media followers, and fitness and wellness incentives.

Additionally, I aspire to lead change in the business sector through my "Better Employer" initiative- which seeks to offer equal employment opportunities, higher-wages, sufficient on-the-job training, and protection against unlawful (and inhumane) acts.

Outside of my career, studies, and philanthropic services, I am an all-around life enthusiast, who loves cooking, blogging, participating in various recreational sports (ice skating, roller skating, tennis, and volleyball), playing the piano, traveling, and soaking in various art forms (poetry, music, visual art, and cultures and languages).

I also enjoy joining in exotic animal encounters. (Thus far, I have had the pleasure of hanging out with monkeys, tigers, wolf cubs, elephants, dolphins, giraffes, horses, lemurs, alpacas, penguins, capybaras, stings rays, and tapirs.)

I am a Christian woman of the Apostolic faith, who puts my trust in Jesus Christ. One of my favorite scriptures is Corinthians 12:10. 

Additionally, I am a known social nonconformist.

Although faced with much negativity for continually negating societal norms (i.e. drinking, smoking, immodesty, etc.), I strive to forge my own path- or rather walk the path God has placed before me.

As I continue to do so, I hope to inspire others, whom desire to walk an indifferent path- but struggle with the pressure of society, to confidently and proudly be themselves.

4. I am currently a "bird" mom to 5 budgies, named Tiago, Blue, Bia, Gabbi, and Eva.

7. I have a heart-shaped birthmark (coincidentally near my heart).
8. A core memory of mine is meeting former First Lady, Michelle Obama.
9. I fell in love with the Hispanic/Latin culture and language, after learning that my maternal grandparents were from San Juan, Puerto Rico.
10. If I could visit any place in the world, it would be Singapore.
