"I can relate to terrible work experiences... Working a full-time job- yet still financially struggling; discrimination and mistreatment by employers or customers and fellow employees with little to no intervention or repercussions from management; stressful work environments; insufficient job-preparation- yet expectation of "perfect" work performance.
Such experiences often left me feeling unhappy, stressed, and overwhelmed... Feelings I would never desire for any employee to experience.
For such reasoning, I created the "Better Employer Initiative"!
Through it, I aspire to place the well-being of employees at the forefront; not only providing a safe and welcoming workplace climate, but offering competitive benefits, sufficient on-the-job training, and protection against unlawful (and inhumane) acts.
It is my hope that the "Better Employer Initiative" creates a chain reaction for other employers to follow suit. In fact, I humbly and respectfully ask that all employers take initiative to better the lives of their employees.
Employees, I encourage you to require workplace enhancements, and hold employers (myself included) accountable on any commitments made. One particular way I have accomplished this is by sending emails; reminding my (corporate) employers of their responsibility to myself and fellow employees- in stringent cases, including (CC'd) a few city officials, attorneys, and/or members of other organizations whom I presumed could assist with this... Remember, you all are the backbone of companies. You are more than deserving of better- and we, employers, owe it to you!"
